So a good friend of mine, Cal Steinmetz, recently discovered I’m a vegetarian. Â Now, I’m sure you’re asking yourself: why is she a vegetarian? Â To answer this question, there is no answer. Â I just woke up one day when I was 15 and said, “I’m not eating meat anymore.” Â DONE
When Cal found this out he said we just HAD to go to this place Sublime. Â This all natural and organic restaurant and bar is located on North Federal Highway in gay Fort Lauderdale. Â So last night Cal, my boss, Mike Preihs and I all ventured out to have dinner at Sublime.
Holy amazeballs, Batman. Â First of all, can we say “beautiful.” Â This place looks like a hotel on the inside. It’s huge. Â The staff is super nice. Â The owner makes her way throughout the restaurant all night long, visiting each table making sure that everything is on point.
To start, three of us got chopped salads and my boss got a caesar salad. Â The chopped salad presentation was beautiful and it tasted amazing. Â I absolutely loved the incorporation of chick peas. Â We also ordered the Frito Misto which is cauliflower in a sweet chili sauce that is really reminiscent of the Bang Bang Shrimp from Bonefish Grill.
For my main course I ordered the vegetable platter. Â This plate came with tofu (blackened), mashed potatoes, green beans and kale. Â It was amazing. I was full, but I JUST KEPT EATING. Â My boss ordered mushroom ravioli. Â He is not vegetarian and he loves him some meat (no that isn’t supposed to be funny), but he LOVED his dish.
We were all too full for dessert, but we did have the pleasure of watching other people eat them. Â Oh man, they really looked amazing. Â Whether you’re vegetarian, vegan or otherwise, Sublime is definitely a place to dine. Seriously, take my advice and pay them a visit because you’ll regret it if you don’t.
