The Big Gay Ice Cream Truck sounds pretty UH-MAZING. Â It began rolling the streets of NYC in June 2009 and their menu combines traditional soft-serve ice cream with toppings like wasabi pea dust, Nilla Wafers, Dulce de Leche, olive oil and sea salt and other toppings that don’t sound like they would be good on ice cream.
The brain child of pro bassoonist Douglas Quint and his partner, Bryan Petroff, The Big Gay Ice Cream Truck has been a huge success with write ups in The Daily News, New York Post and many other reputable publications like Wilton Drive Online (just saying).
Now, I’m not really sure what makes this ice cream truck gay, but one can only imagine. Â They’re logo DOES have a pseudo rainbow in it and they more than likely blast Born This Way when they roll down the street. Â Well, if they don’t than they should.
