Destination: Bona Cafe

Today I decided to venture a few blocks away from my office for lunch.  As much as I love me some Juice Blendz, I just had to let my hair down and get away. I decided to try out Bona Cafe Italian Restaurant on Wilton Drive for lunch since I don’t have a boyfriend and it doesn’t really matter if my breath smells tonight.

First of all, can we please discuss that this place is way bigger inside than it looks. There has to be at least 15 tables in there.  I ordered the minestrone soup and the house salad with house dressing.  I’m a vegetarian and it being lunch, I didn’t want to eat anything too heavy however they did have a good selection for those non-meat eaters.  This is one restaurant that definitely prides themselves on homemade cooking, so I was excited to try everything out.

The house salad was okay.  It had lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and one cucumber slice (yes, one).  The dressing wasn’t anything spectacular.  It was good, but I loves me some Olive Garden dressing.  The soup was also just okay.  Although the bowl was really hot and steam was coming off of the soup itself, it wasn’t very hot at all.  I didn’t even have to blow (haha).

With a diet coke my bill came to $12.35.  This is one of those reviews where I just kind of have to throw up my hand and say, “eh, it was okay.”  I wouldn’t go out of my way to go there again, but if someone suggested we eat there I wouldn’t argue.  Maybe I’ll try them for lunch, but for right now this is my story and I’m stickin’ to it.
