Well the 2012 Los Angeles GLAAD Awards really proved why Tinsel Town knows how to throw a party.Â In its 23 year and with some of the biggest names in entertainment both gay and straight sharing a voice for the LGBT community.
With this years Stephen F. Kolzak Award going to Chaz Bono and presented by both Mary Bono and gay icon Cher (sporting a 1970’s Afro wig). Other award winners were The Hunger Games handsome Josh Hutcherson for his efforts in the “Straight but Not Narrow” campaign against bullying andÂ homophobia.
OtherÂ moving moments came from Jennifer Tyrrell as her volunteer position as a “Den Mother” for her sons Boy Scouts for simply being a lesbian. The Boy Scouts statement was that they needed “Good role models with good morals in leadership positions”. Jennifer spoke and said she was very clear with her sexuality and was one of the hardest working volunteers back in her Ohio town and was widely accepted by her community before the leadership at Boy Scouts of America let her go.
Other stars in attendance were the cast of Hot in Cleveland, Modern Family, GCB,GLEE,Â Â The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and Molly Shannon, Lady BunnyÂ & Ellen DeGeneres.
