Wilton Drive’s “grandaddy of the gay bars” Georgie’s Alibi is making a name change to Alibi Wilton Manors. Along with the name change they also have some new theme nights they have been rolling out like “Game Show Wednesdays” that feature’s a different game show each week hosted by Cashetta or Nikki Adams. The Skyy drink specials on Wednesday’s are only $4 dollars and goes on from 9pm till close. This seems like a great addition to an already fun week at the Alibi.
They invented the notorious Thursday night Long Island Ice Tea night and to our knowledge that remains the same (why mess with success?). Friday’s has Smirnoff drink specials starting at $4 dollars and starts at 9pm till close and is one of the most happening places to go. The Alibi is truly the first gay establishment that launched Wilton Drive and has been the anchor of gay Wilton Manors. So it seems like a sure bet that even with a name change and even more nights to go there it will continue this trend.
Well with Georgie’s Alibi now Alibi Wilton Manors there has been some construction going on across the street. If you have not noticed the old Bad Dog Saloon has been gutted and a friendly and well known new owner is about to bring us yet another expected hot spot. Yes former Georgie’s Alibi owner George Kessinger is bringing us the new Village Pub WM and it has everybody waiting for opening day.
No stranger to gay nightlife and someone that everybody knows and likes George Kessinger has an eye for fun. If you would have asked us at Wilton Drive On Line if Wilton Drive could handle another bar we may have said no but George is not just another bar owner. With ventures on the East coast to the West coast he truly brings something special and unique to his businesses. So with an upcoming opening date soon we will bring you more on Village Pub WM and highlight it’s nightly specials and entertainment as well.
It looks like the Drive is only going to get more busy and hustle and bustle right before season starts…
