New Flagship Louis Vuitton Opens In Aventura

One of the world’s most luxurious brands has officially moved into its permanent two-story store in Aventura Mall, bringing with it a handful of services and exclusive collections.

After moving from The Shops of Bal Harbour to a temporary location inside the mall last July, Louis Vuitton unveiled its shop Saturday.

Unlike the Design District boutique, this location is classified as a “Maison” by the brand and it is one the largest stores in North America to offer a variety of services such as bespoke, exclusive collections, a private entrance, a garden terrace for special luncheons and events as well as private shopping rooms for VIP customers.

David Goubert, a spokesman for the brand said “South Florida is a market that Louis Vuitton believes in.

“It’s a powerful market infused with arts and culture. Louis Vuitton has had a presence in the area for more than 30 years. In fact, the second freestanding Louis Vuitton store in North America was in Miami,” said Goubert.

Nestled next to the Nordstrom wing, the store designed by architect Peter Marino combines both art and luxury. There’s a façade adorned with iconic Louis Vuitton flowers, a grand staircase with handrails wrapped in Louis Vuitton’s nomad leather and artworks by Cuban-born artist Jorge Pardo and others.

The Aventura store is the only one in North America in which men can design their shoes, with more than 3,000 options. The “Made to Order” service first launched September 2011 and is  also offered in Sydney, London, Tokyo, Milan and Shanghai.

For women, custom designing isn’t available for shoes or apparel yet, but it is for bags. The service is part of The Haute Maroquinerie salon. Women can choose among five iconic shapes, 26 colors and eight  skins. There are about 40,000  possibilities. The purses typically take  from up to 6 months or longer, depending on the design. They are all crafted in the Louis Vuitton Asnières atelier in the suburbs of Paris.

Other features in the Aventura store include a bag bar, Louis Vuitton Cup collections, ready-to-wear, and a watch and fine jewelry area.
