Diana Nyad Makes History on Cuba to Key West,FL Swim Today

Well after a tiring and draining 53 hours straight 64 year old Diana Nyad made history today. The closer she got to the Key West shore spectators cheered and even entered the water to welcome her and take photos.

“I have three messages. One is, we should never, ever give up. Two is, you’re never too old to chase your dream. Three is, it looks like a solitary sport, but it is a team,” she told the crowd as she caught her breath and started to realize after several attempts over the last 30 years she did it.

This was her fifth and what has been reported to be her last attempt. With three times in 2011 and 2012 she had really proves that not giving up and believing in yourself is all you need. Her previous attempt was difficult due to harsh weather, brutal waves and an overwhelming amount of stinging jellyfish.

Congratulations Diana as your simply an inspiration and amazing roll model!
