Here’s an “amazing” casting call: CBS’ popular reality TV competition, “The Amazing Race,” is looking for new teams from 5 to 9 p.m. Oct. 2 at Gulfstream Park Racing and Casino, 901 S. Federal Highway, Hallandale Beach.
The series follows teams of two as they race one another in completing missions across the globe. The first pair to finish wins $1 million.
Teams must audition together and provide photo identification. Auditions will be recorded and forwarded to producers in Los Angeles for further consideration.
“We look for a dynamic team. Both contestants have to be outspoken, have a great sense of humor and love adventure and travel,” wrote co-creator and executive producer Elise Doganieri in an email. “A team that can express their emotions, whether they are feeling happy or frustrated. A competitive nature is a must, most people we cast have said that they know they are going to win! We like that.”
This season, which began Sept. 26 on WFOR-Ch. 4 in Fort Lauderdale-Miami and WPEC-Ch. 12 in West Palm Beach, features Miami sisters and real estate agents Lisa Thomson and Michelle Thomson. Past South Florida contestants included former Miami Dolphins cheerleaders Jaime Edmondson and Cara Rosenthal, and Miami best friends Oswald Mendez and Danny Jimenez
